When a fence () closes inside a block, prepend any content
that came before the fence to renderedHtml so both text and the
highlighted fence show up. When content is appended after the fence,
keep renderedHtml in sync by appending the escaped text. This prevents
the fence from 'eating' surrounding content.
- Introduce StreamFsm class wrapping QProcess lifecycle with
Oneshot/Looping/Guarded restart policies
- Replace raw QProcess management in Ollie9pClient with StreamFsm
- Fix chatblockmodel FSM to properly handle [[[end]]] and fence
transitions with a combined State enum (Outside/InBlock/InFence)
- Add Q_INVOKABLE to setActiveSessionId for direct QML access
- Add streamfsm.cpp to CMakeLists.txt for both KF5 and KF6 builds
- Changed path from session/eventwait to /eventwait (global, not per-session)
- Use ollie-9p instead of plan9port 9p for the read
- Changed from parsing full session index to just calling refreshSessions()
on any event (the event format is now structured deltas, but the GUI
is kept simple with a full index refresh)
startStateStream now trusts the explicit session/agent selection and
opens session/<sid>/agent/<aid>/statewait directly. It no longer calls
getAgents(), which was repeatedly listing session/<sid>/agent on every
statewait reopen.
The dominant 9P spam came from buildSessionTree() re-listing
session/<sid>/agent on every activeSessionIdChanged and
activeAgentIdChanged signal. Tree rebuilds are now limited to
sessionsChanged and startup refresh; selection changes only
refresh the right pane transcript.
- Session row click now calls setActiveSessionId(id)
- setActiveSessionId no longer returns early for same-session clicks;
it always clears m_agentId and stops per-agent streams
- This enforces a clean 'session selected, no agent selected' state
- setActiveSessionId remains session-only and never starts streams
- setActiveAgentId now clears any existing per-agent streams and only
updates selection/state
- switchAgent is explicitly the only place that starts chat/statewait
- onStateFinished only reopens for the current explicit selection
- setActiveSessionId now selects only the session; it clears m_agentId
and never auto-selects a lone agent.
- startStateStream no longer re-resolves or falls back to another agent;
it only runs when the explicit active agent still exists.
- QML now handles activeAgentId changes explicitly and keeps the right
pane blank/disabled when no session or no agent is selected.
Add a run9p stat check before opening blocking reads on
statewait and chat. If the agent directory doesn't exist,
skip starting (prevents tight restart loops when a session
is killed while streams are active). Only one statewait
reader runs at a time.
onStateFinished and onChatFinished no longer restart their
streams. Streams are only started when the user explicitly
selects an agent (setActiveSessionId for single-agent,
switchAgent for multi-agent). This prevents tight restart
loops when pointing to a nonexistent directory.
- Deduplicate session entries in refreshSessions and onEventReadyRead
using QSet to skip duplicate session IDs from multi-agent index.
- Fix field mapping: index format is name\tstate\tcwd\tbackend\tmodel\tagent
- Added QSet include
- setActiveSessionId: only auto-select agent when exactly ONE exists.
With multiple agents, clear m_agentId and let user click on
an agent node in the tree to activate it.
- startStateStream: verify current agent directory still exists
instead of always re-discovering to the first agent. Only
fall back to first agent if current agent is gone.
- Emit activeAgentIdChanged so QML reacts to agent changes.
The previous fix stopped trimming the whole output but still called
.trimmed() on each individual line, which stripped trailing tabs from
empty-session lines like "testsession2\t\t\t\t\t". Now we split
by tab directly without any trimming — empty fields stay as empty
strings and the parts count stays at 6.
refreshSessions() and onEventReadyRead() called .trimmed() on the full
session/idx output, which stripped trailing tab characters from the
last line. An empty session line ("testsession2\t\t\t\t\t")
became just "testsession2" — a single field that failed the size>=2
check and was silently dropped from the session list.
- ListView and its placeholder label now have activeFocusOnTab: false
and focus: false so clicking the empty sidebar doesn't steal focus
from the prompt text area
- onEventReadyRead() now parses the eventwait data directly instead of
discarding it and re-reading session/idx
- Removed the 2-second refresh timer that was stealing focus from the
prompt text area on every tick
- Call ollie.refreshSessions() from Component.onCompleted before
buildSessionTree() for reliable initial load
- Add a 2-second periodic refresh timer as fallback for missed events
- ensureRootDataLoaded() now calls refreshSessions() so the initial
session list is populated immediately, not only on events
- Added '(no sessions)' placeholder label in the session tree ListView
when no sessions exist
- getAgents(): filter out 'new' (agent creation file), return empty list
- setActiveSessionId(): skip agent init when no agents exist
- submit/interrupt/kill/streams: guard against empty m_agentId
- prompt input: disable when no agent, show 'No agent' placeholder
- Add Interrupt block type to ChatBlock enum
- Detect <system-user-interruption> and </system-user-interruption>
tags as block openers/closers in the parser
- Render interrupt blocks with bright yellow header
(#3d2e00 dark, #fff8e1 light)
- Show ⚠ User Interrupt header label
Right-click now stores the target session ID in a root-level
property (killTargetSessionId) before popping the menu, avoiding
unreliable QML parent chain traversal that could resolve to the
wrong delegate.
Session-level kill (session/{id}/ctl) does the full cleanup:
removes from session map, cancels context, closes agent, kills
toolsrv process, removes persisted JSON. Agent-level kill just
cancels the session context without cleaning up the filesystem.
Also remove unused getAgents call.
- Add killSession(sessionId) Q_INVOKABLE to Ollie9pClient
- Accept right button in session tree MouseArea
- Context menu with Kill option on right-click
- MenuItem resolves session ID via parent chain
Replace the single-bracket INI-like format with triple-bracket blocks
with explicit [[[end]]] terminators. The parser tracks m_inBlock to
ignore content between blocks, making the format robust against
accidental header-like content in tool output or LLM responses.
- Go sender: FormatEvent + NewEventHandler + replayMessagesToLog
- C++ parser: new regex for [[[type]]], new [[[end]]] handler, m_inBlock gate
- QML: update hardcoded [info] string
- Remove 300ms click delay (timer-based single/double-click disambiguation)
- Use native QML onDoubleClicked for rename instead of timer hack
- Capture model index as delegate property to fix rename targeting all nodes
- Remove dead rename code that was orphaned by the timer removal
- Clean up Escape shortcut handler
The C++ connection mapping activeSessionIdChanged to chatModel->reset()
raced against the QML onActiveSessionIdChanged handler which does the
actual reload (reset → readLogForSession → appendData → trimFront).
When the C++ slot fired after the QML handler, it cleared the freshly
loaded chat data.
Remove the redundant C++ connection — the QML handler owns the full
reset+reload sequence and sequences the 9P log read correctly.
buildSessionTree() was clearing the tree and setting expanded=true
only for the active session, collapsing all other sessions whenever
an agent in a different session was selected.
Now snapshot expanded state before clearing and restore it, so manually
expanded sessions stay open across agent switches.
- New session dialog: Backend and Model now use proper ComboBoxes with
editable=true so users can type or select from dropdown
- Backend picker and model picker dialogs removed (no longer needed)
- Model list populated reactively via Connections on backend selection
- Fix model caching: m_rootModels[be].toStringList() returns a copy;
extract to local QStringList, append, store back into map
- Session creation uses correct path 'session/new' instead of 'new'
- Chat blocks are now collapsible: user/assistant/tool expanded by default,
reasoning/call/error/info/default collapsed
- Fix chat history on session switch: readLogForSession() reads from the
explicit session/agent path instead of relying on active state
- Fix delegate layout: use plain ColumnLayout instead of Item-wrapped
ColumnLayout so ListView calculates implicit heights correctly
- Keys.onEscapePressed doesn't fire when child items have focus
- Shortcut element provides proper global key handling
- Added console.log debugging to track ESC activation and activeState
- C++: Use <pre style="white-space:pre-wrap;"> instead of <div> with <br>
so raw newlines are preserved through to the HTML renderer
- QML: Use TextEdit (preserves whitespace) instead of Label (collapses it)
for rendering blockRenderedHtml
- Backend: TextField with '...' button opens ListView of available backends
- Model: TextField with '...' button opens ListView filtered by selected backend
- Auto-populate model placeholder when backend text changes
- Model picker also works on manual click for re-selection
- Update onAccepted to use field.text instead of combo.currentText
- Remove import of QtQuick.Dialogs 1.15 (not available on Gentoo)
- Replace FolderDialog with FileDialog { selectFolder: true }
- FileDialog is part of QtQuick.Controls 2.x which is already imported
- Add C++ methods: loadRootBackends(), loadRootAgents(), getAvailableModels(), createSession()
- Add Q_PROPERTYs for root data state (backends, agents, models)
- Add '+' button to sessions toolbar
- Create New Session Dialog with:
- Directory field + Browse button (FolderDialog)
- Name field (optional, auto-generated if empty)
- Backend combo (populated from /backends)
- Model combo (filtered by selected backend)
- Agent combo (populated from /agents)
- Remote field (user@host:port)
- Root data loaded lazily on startup
- OK creates session via 'write new' 9P call and refreshes list
- Guard delegate against undefined properties during initial render
- Use || 0 fallbacks for optional model properties
- Remove broken ScrollBar.vertical.value assignment (not assignable)
- Fix Keys.onReturnPressed to use explicit function(event) parameter
- Call buildSessionTree() on Component.onCompleted
- Add getAgents() to Ollie9pClient for listing agents per session
- Add switchAgent() for switching sessions+agents atomically
- Add activeAgentId property and activeAgentIdChanged signal
- Replace flat ListView with tree-aware model (session → agents)
- Session nodes expandable/collapsible with ▶/▼ indicator
- Agent nodes indented, clickable to activate that agent
- Active agent highlighted, active session auto-expanded
- State dots on both session and agent rows
- TextArea grows from 5 rows up to 200px as content increases
- Auto-scrolls to bottom on text change
- Uses Math.min(contentHeight, max) to avoid unnecessary space
- Add fence state machine (NoFence → InFence) to ChatBlockModel
- On closing ```, render via KSyntaxHighlighting or inline diff colorizer
- Store rendered HTML in ChatBlock.renderedHtml, emit dataChanged on RenderedHtmlRole
- QML shows RichText Label when renderedHtml is populated, falls back to PlainText
- Add KF6::SyntaxHighlighting dependency for ollie-gui target
Signals were emitted before m_agentId was set, causing QML's
onActiveSessionIdChanged handler to call readLog() with an empty
agent path. Now: discover agent → emit signals → start streams.
- KRunner: rewritten to use plan9port 9p command for all operations
(list sessions, kill, one-shot generate). No D-Bus dependency.
- Tray: removed. Was a thin D-Bus status wrapper, not useful enough
to justify maintaining.
- Plasmoid: removed. GUI is standalone now.
- Kate: temporarily disabled in CMake. Header partially converted to
9P (D-Bus includes removed, QProcess/9P helpers declared). Full
conversion is next.
- All ninepBin() helpers use $PLAN9/bin/9p (not hardcoded path).
- CMake: removed Qt5::DBus, KF5::Notifications, KF5::Plasma deps.
Only remaining link deps: Qt5::Core, Qt5::Widgets, Qt5::Quick,
Qt5::QuickControls2, KF5::Runner.
Kill the entire D-Bus rendering pipeline. The GUI now uses plan9port's
9p command as a subprocess for all server communication:
- Chat streaming: persistent 'read chat' process, readyReadStandardOutput
delivers tokens directly to QML (no polling, no signals, no offsets)
- State: 'read statewait' process, restarts on each state change
- Session list: 'read session/idx' one-shot
- Submit/stop/kill: 'write prompt/ctl' one-shot
The QML is stripped to fundamentals: session list + monospace streaming
text (last 8KB tail) + input field. No ChatBlockModel, no ThemeManager,
no OllieDBusClient, no syntax highlighting, no markdown rendering.
This eliminates the multi-second GUI freezes caused by:
- QTextDocument relayout on 200KB+ accumulated text
- loadEarlier cascade creating hundreds of delegates
- KSyntaxHighlighting::Repository blocking init
- Offset mismatch triggering synchronous D-Bus calls
Features will be re-added incrementally on this proven foundation.
D-Bus retained only for plasmoid/tray/KRunner (desktop integration).
Allow specifying a remote target (e.g. user@host) when creating a
session from the GUI. Empty means local execution. The value is passed
through to the D-Bus CreateSession method's remote parameter.
Reactions were removed from the core runtime. Remove the dead QML code:
- 3x setReactions/getReactions dbus calls
- blockReaction property on delegate loader
- Reaction badge label and reaction buttons row
When the new-session dialog opens, the backend combo defaults to index 0
but onCurrentTextChanged doesn't fire for the initial value. Explicitly
call listModelsByBackend for the default backend so the model dropdown
is populated immediately.
Child MouseArea inside Flickable interferes with drag detection even
when only accepting RightButton. Move it to a sibling overlay with
propagateComposedEvents so left-drag reaches the Flickable natively.
Remove manual pan logic. Let Flickable handle drag-to-pan natively.
MouseArea only accepts RightButton (close) and wheel (zoom), so it
no longer steals left-click events from the Flickable.
Left-click drag was unreliable for panning. Use Meta (Super/Win key)
+ left-click-drag instead. Flickable interactive mode disabled;
panning is handled manually via MouseArea.
The mermaid container has been replaced with a proper mermaid.ink
server. Use /img/ endpoint (returns JPEG) instead of /svg/ since
Qt's SVG renderer can't handle CSS class-based styles. Falls back
to mmdc CLI with PNG output if server is unavailable.
Qt's SVG renderer doesn't support CSS class-based styling that mermaid
generates (<style> blocks with class selectors). This caused text and
connectors to be invisible — they had no fill/stroke applied.
Fix: output PNG from mmdc for mermaid diagrams. Qt renders PNG perfectly.
PlantUML and Draw.io continue using SVG (they use inline styles).
Text and connectors were invisible because mmdc rendered with a dark
theme (white text/edges) on the white diagram background. Explicitly
pass -t default to force dark text on light background.
- Detect mermaid/plantuml/drawio/mxgraph code fences as 'diagram' sub-blocks
- Render via local servers (PlantUML :8080, Mermaid :8081, draw.io :8082)
- Fall back to CLI tools (plantuml, mmdc, drawio) if servers unavailable
- Cache rendered SVGs in ~/.cache/*/diagrams/ keyed by content hash
- Show rendered image with white background (dark theme friendly)
- Collapsible source toggle (▶/▼) below rendered diagram
- Middle-click to invalidate cache and re-render
- Left-click opens fullscreen pannable/zoomable viewer
- Fullscreen: scroll-wheel zoom, drag to pan, Esc/right-click/dbl-click to close
- Both kf5 and kf6 builds
In Qt5 Repeater delegates, 'property var block: model' doesn't
propagate dataChanged updates for individual roles. Add a reactive
'blockReaction' string property bound to model.reaction directly,
which updates when the model emits dataChanged.
Same fixes as kf5:
- Remove hover-based sloppy focus that stole focus from buttons
- Add Ctrl+L to focus prompt
- Add emoji reaction buttons on assistant message hover
Reaction buttons (👍👎🚀💩🤔) appear on hover over assistant chat
bubbles. Clicking one calls the React D-Bus method which records
the feedback in session history without triggering a model turn.
Also adds react() to OllieDBusClient.
The hover-based sloppy focus timer was stealing focus from buttons
via paneRoot.focus=true every 100ms of mouse movement, making
buttons very hard to click.
Replace with a click-to-focus MouseArea that only updates the
focusedPaneIndex on actual clicks, with mouse.accepted=false
so clicks propagate to the target widget normally.
The sloppy focus timer was calling panePrompt.forceActiveFocus()
on mouse movement, stealing focus from button clicks. Remove the
auto-focus; add Ctrl+L shortcut to focus the prompt input instead.
Adds a filterText property to ChatBlockModel that filters all
parsed blocks by case-insensitive substring match on content
or tool/call name. Toggle the filter bar with Ctrl+F; Escape
or the close button clears the filter and hides the bar.
Shows match count while filtering.
Optional name field in the dialog. If provided, the session is
renamed immediately after creation via RenameSession D-Bus call.
Left blank, the auto-generated ID is used as before.
Use palette.mid at 60% opacity when active (scrolling), fully
transparent when idle, palette.mid on hover, palette.highlight
when pressed. 150ms color animation for smooth transitions.
- Add ScrollBar.vertical to the chat Flickable (both KF5/KF6)
- Remove interactive:false so native flick gestures work
- Trigger paneModel.loadEarlier() when scrolled near top
- Preserve scroll position when prepending older blocks
- Reduce column width by 12px for scrollbar clearance
- Expose GuiActivator as "activator" context property
- Add Ctrl+N shortcut to open a new window (both KF5 and KF6)
- Add per-session draft text persistence to main-kf5.qml
(KF6 ChatPane.qml already had this from previous commit)
When switching between sessions, the draft text in the prompt
is saved and restored. Each pane maintains a _drafts map keyed
by session ID, so switching away and back preserves whatever
was typed.
Running ollie-gui a second time now opens a new window in the
existing process (via NewWindow D-Bus method) instead of just
raising the existing window. The single-instance guard remains.
Each window gets its own ChatBlockModel via QML instantiation
(ChatPane.qml), so windows can display independent sessions.
Replace simple folder picker with a full dialog. Adds listBackends()
and listModels() to OllieDBusClient. createSession() now accepts
backend and model parameters.
Adds errorOccurred signal to OllieDBusClient, emitted when
CreateSession (or other async calls) fail. GUI shows a modal
dialog; plasmoid shows a passive notification.
- YouTube videos show hqdefault.jpg thumbnail
- All cards have minimum 200px height
- Play button opens in browser (fixed parent chain)
- Use id-based refs instead of fragile parent.parent chains
Detect video URLs (YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch, direct media)
in chat responses. Direct .mp4/.webm/.ogv files play inline via
QtMultimedia Video. Other video sites show a card with play button
that opens in the system browser.
Adds Qt6::Multimedia dependency.
